CasaCor SP 2019

The Dendê House occupied 155 m² at CASACOR São Paulo 2019. The design draws from Nildo José's Bahian roots without resorting to literal representation: straight lines, curves inspired by the Recôncavo, natural materials, and references to tropical architecture weave this narrative. Upon entry, a slab of marble with rock salt runs through the space, while dark-hued slatted planes connect the walls and ceiling. The kitchen and bathroom are concentrated in a central volume enclosed by lattice panels, which filter light and enhance ventilation. Fabrics produced on Bahian looms, contemporary art, Brazilian design pieces, and a garden of snake plants bring together architectural rigor, memory, and spirituality.
